The Ministry of Education following directives from the President on Sunday to issue further guidance on how school are going to resume has come out with a reopening plan for school including dates fo thier final exams (WASSCE for SHS and BECE for JHS) students.
The following were made know at a press briefing today.
For JHS 3 students, Academic work will start on June 29th through to September 11th, 2020 with September 14th – September 18th, 2020 as their final exam date.
For SHS 3, Academic Work will begin on June 22nd to July 31st, 2020 and Period for their exams being August 3rd – September 4th,2020.
Also SHS 2 students who are on Gold track will have Six weeks academic work starting
June 22nd – July 31st, 2020 and then proceed on Vacation.
Final year University students' Academic Work will begin from June 15th – July 24th, 2020 with exams Period from July 27th – August 21st.
The following were made know by the Ministry of Education also at the press briefing especially of BECE candidates.
1.The JHS 3 students will spend 11weeks in school (starting 29th June, 2020) and write their exams in the 12th week.
2. Each student will be given 3sets of face masks.
3. Classes will start from 9am to 1pm from Monday to Friday.
4. There will be 4 lessons a day. Each lessons will last for 45 minutes.
5. No mass gathering.
6. No outside break apart from attending nature's call.
7. No morning or closing assembly.
8. No religious activities will be allowed in the schools.
9. No sporting activities will be carried out within the period.
10. No visitors will be allowed in personal hygiene sectors.
